About ME

Hello and welcome to my website Action N Emergency Photography. My name is Mike Hughes and I currently live in Barry, South Wales. I am the photographer and owner of this website. At The bottom of this information page you will find a photograph of myself, mainly for visitors if I am ever at a show near you and recognise myself, please come and say hello to myself.

I have been photographing Emergency Service Vehicles since 2001 using various cameras over the years. I have taken over well in excess of 3000 photographs and the number continues every day, normally finding something new and by doing visits. This website would not be here today without the help of my family and friends for assisting me in it and taking me on various trips and to various shows across Wales & UK. Also This site would not be possible without the big help from various emergency service staff who have stayed in touch with myself for visits and for all Emergency Vehicle Establishments for allowing visits and being so helpful within my hobby.

I try my best to attend as many Emergency Vehicle Shows as possible. I often visit Air shows for the vast array of emergency vehicles on the site providing cover for the show.

Over the years, the website has gone through many changes including revamps, this is to make the website much easier and accessible for visitors to navigate around the website to enjoy the hundreds of various photographs on the website.

My nearest police force is South Wales Police where I am very much known to the Traffic bases and you will find a massive selection of photographs displayed over 5 galleries on this website including nostalgia vehicles and up to date recent vehicles.

Camera Equipment

The cameras I have used since 2001 photographing emergency service vehicles to show on my website are as follows:

Pentax SLR Film Camera.

Olympus Digital Camera

Minolta Digital Camera

Cannon 350D Digital Camera.

I was given the Cannon 350D to myself by my dad in 2007 and it is still in use today. It has provided me with 4 years with excellent digital photographs. As visitors and guests browse my website, you will notice the difference in photograph quality over the years. I do not only photograph emergency service vehicles but trains is another hobby of mine, at this present time I do not have website to show these photographs but hope to create a website in the near future.

I would like to mention that I do not accept Guest Images, this is because I created this website personally to show my own digital photographs over the years for visitors and guests to enjoy.
